engagement ringsBefore you choose a particular metal for your engagement ring, know about the difference of various metals and their suitability for the ring. Each metal serves a different purpose. But as a general rule, you should prefer buying metal with higher precious metal content in it as such a metal will be more pure and durable. However, its prices will go up and sometime become unaffordable too. This mainly applies for gold. Platinum and palladium are used in purest possible form for the rings.

Know that 18kt gold or higher number of karat come in pure yellow gold color and it can be called as a real yellow metal with all the properties of it. We suggest that if a metal has alloys of less than 50 percent gold content and are under 14kt, and then it should be avoided as it is more a gold brass than gold.
